Rules and Regulations
DEADLINE EXTENSION: MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13, 5 PM
2012 Update: If you have a large file (i.e. video, radio, AV, etc.) you may upload a word document with a live link to the file on your website or YouTube, rather than uploading the file. You may also provide links to your website, your electronic marketing or anything on your website. Please provide LIVE links.
Eligibility
The competition is open to all public relations and marketing professionals employed by New England healthcare institutions, Health plans and agencies. Eligible entries must have been produced and/or completed – including measured results, between October 1, 2010 and January 31, 2012.
Deadlines
Deadline: Friday, January 27, 2012, 5 pm
Extended Deadline: Friday, February 3, 2012, 5 pm with accompanying late fee of $25 per entry
Late Deadline: Friday, February 10, 2012, 5 pm with accompanying late fee of $50 per entry.
The competition will close on Friday, February 10 at 5pm with no exceptions. All entries must be completed electronically through the NESHCo Lamplighters system by that time. Late entries will be accepted until Friday, February 10, 2012 with the late entry fee.
Cost/Payment
NESHCo members: $80.00 per entry / Non-NESHCo members: $110.00 per entry
Extended deadline fees: additional $25 for each late entry
Final deadline late fee: additional $50 per entry
Payment is expected at the time of entry. Online, secure credit card processing is available and you may pay for al your entries in one payment. NESHCO does accept checks and checks must be mailed with your summary of entries email receipt within one week of the deadline date. Checks not received may result in disqualification.
Entry fees are not returnable and must accompany your entry. Entries become the property of NESHCo and will not be returned.
Disqualifications
Entries that do not include the required information will be disqualified without notification.
Judging
All entries will be reviewed by two judges from a reciprocating society in another state.
Produced In House vs. Agency Produced
Any entry that an advertising, design or PR agency either collaborated on or produced the materials in part or as a whole, should be considered an AGENCY PRODUCED entry. Entries that were produced in house but that may have used freelance staffers is considered PRODUCED IN HOUSE.
Member vs. Non Member rate
Multiple people from the same organization may create a profile HOWEVER, only the actual member will receive the member rate, unless your organization is a corporate member. Other members of the organization that create a user profile will be charged the non member rate. NESHCo reserves the right to bill any non member who paid only the member rate. When will awards be presented?
- Awards presentation will be at the 2012 Spring Conference on May 17 in Boston, Mass.
- Lamplighter Awards Gala dinner tickets for persons not attending the conference may be purchased separately in the spring.
- Winners and non winners will be notified prior to the awards ceremony.

The Challenge Statement
The story behind your entry.
Challenge Statements are limited to two 8 ½ x 11 inch typed, pages, unless noted differently under actual category, and must include:
1. Situation Analysis
Describe the factors in the marketplace or organization that created the need for this publication/project/campaign, etc. Explain the problem(s) and opportunity(ies).
2. Statement of Objectives
Provide a specific, detailed explanation of the objectives that guided the development of the publication/project/campaign, etc.
3. Program Planning and Strategy
Discuss the techniques, methods, and approaches you used to achieve your objectives and/or solve the problem. Include explanation of strategic and tactical considerations
4. Results Documentation
Provide both quantitative and qualitative documentation of the success of the project, such as inquiries, patient visits, sales generated, press clippings, or positive feedback that demonstrate that you met objectives. The results documentation must contain factual information and should confirm achievement of the set goals. All supporting materials should be uploaded as part of your entry.
