The New England Society for Healthcare Communications' Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Kelly Woodsum has assumed the role of Executive Director. Formerly the senior marketing manager for Hallmark Health, a two-hospital health system north of Boston, Woodsum planned and executed the winning 2004 “Best of New England” campaign for the Lamplighter awards. The campaign entitled “We check your heart, not your party affiliation” was a comprehensive advertising and public relations campaign aimed at alleviating the public’s concerns about seeking healthcare during the road closures and traffic congestion of the Democratic National Convention. In her role at Hallmark Health, Woodsum oversaw all advertising, marketing campaigns, internal and external publications, four Web sites and collateral development and production. Prior to joining Hallmark Health in 2003, Woodsum served as the director of worldwide public relations for a Virginia-based software firm, MARC Global Systems and as a senior account manager for Rogers Communications, a technology public relations agency north of Boston. Woodsum also held the public relations and advertising manager position at Hallmark Health hospital, Melrose-Wakefield Hospital, from 1996-1998 prior to the hospital’s merge with Lawrence Memorial and Malden hospitals. Woodsum brings over 12 years of marketing, public relations and communications experience. She currently serves as the executive director of the Publicity Club of New England (Pub Club). In that role, Woodsum acts as the liaison to the board of directors and membership. Woodsum oversees, plans and coordinates the Bell Ringer awards competition, educational programming, networking and social events, Web site and newsletter. Woodsum has been a long-time member of Pub Club and NESHCO prior to holding the Executive Director roles. She has served as president of Pub Club, as well as holding numerous other board positions. She also served as the Director, Eastern Massachusetts, on the NESHCO board of directors. Woodsum has won more than 15 Bell Ringer and Lamplighter awards in the last 10 years. |
